The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is actively seeking assistance from the public in locating missing 16-year-old Robert “RJ” Williams. He was last seen on December 17, 2023, near Broad Ripple Avenue. RJ, who is diagnosed with autism, may require medical assistance, prompting significant concern for his well-being.

RJ is described as standing 5’9” tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. The IMPD has emphasized the importance of community involvement in efforts to find him, urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

The police have provided several contact options for individuals who may have seen RJ. They can reach the IMPD Missing Persons Unit at 317.327.6160 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317.262.8477. Additionally, tips can be submitted anonymously through the mobile P3tips app or the website www.CrimeTips.org.

Community Engagement and Support

The IMPD recognizes the vital role that local citizens play in these critical situations. As they continue their search efforts, they encourage the public to act swiftly if they come across RJ. “If you see RJ, please contact 911 immediately,” the department stated in a recent social media post.

To aid in public recognition, the IMPD has shared a photo of RJ, which has been circulated widely across various platforms. The department is also offering a reward of up to $1,000 for tips leading to a felony arrest connected to this case, ensuring that informants can remain anonymous through Crime Stoppers.

Only tips that are submitted directly and anonymously to Crime Stoppers will qualify for the financial reward. The IMPD remains committed to leveraging all available resources, including community support, to ensure RJ’s safe return.

As the search progresses, the urgency of the situation underscores the need for collaboration among the public and law enforcement. Any piece of information, no matter how small, could be crucial in helping reunite RJ with his family.
