Dorchester Garden Club Celebrates Achievements at Annual Picnic

The Dorchester Garden Club recognized outstanding contributions to horticulture and design during its annual picnic held in June 2023 at the residence of member Ciindy Burns in Cambridge. The event served not only as a social gathering but also as an opportunity to celebrate members’ achievements in promoting the club’s mission.

Patti Hopkins received the esteemed Perennial Bloom Award for her exceptional support in helping the club flourish. Her dedication to the club’s goals has been pivotal in fostering a vibrant environment for all members. In addition to this accolade, Hopkins was also awarded first place in the Division I Top Horticultural Competition, claiming the Lednum Cup.

In the design category, Mari Stanley earned first place in the Division II Top Design Competition, securing the Tawes Bowl. Both awards reflect the club’s commitment to excellence in gardening and design, highlighting the talents of its members.

The annual picnic brought together club members and their families, creating a festive atmosphere that underscored the community spirit within Dorchester. With a focus on educational initiatives and environmental stewardship, the club continues to inspire its members and the broader community.
