Bradford Medical Centers Honor January 2026 Star Award Recipients
Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC) and Olean General Hospital (OGH), both part of Kaleida Health, have announced their Star Award recipients for January 2026. The honored employees are Heither Green from BRMC and Ryan Malanowski from OGH, recognized for their exceptional contributions to patient care and teamwork.
Heither Green Recognized for Dedication
Heither Green, a phlebotomy technician in the laboratory department at BRMC, has been with the organization since 2004. Her nomination for the Star Award highlighted her reliability, strong work ethic, and readiness to assist whenever required.
According to her nomination, “Heither is an exceptionally dedicated and reliable team member who consistently goes above and beyond to support both patients and colleagues.” Her commitment is evidenced by her willingness to arrive as early as 5:30 a.m. and stay late until 5 or 6 p.m. to ensure that tasks are completed and her team is well-supported. Her dependability makes her an invaluable asset to the department.
Ryan Malanowski Celebrated for Compassionate Care
Ryan Malanowski, a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at OGH since 2021, received the award for providing compassionate, patient-centered care. A family member of one of his patients praised him for his exceptional handling of an 83-year-old patient who was feeling cold and frightened.
“Ryan was exceptional in caring for her, going above and beyond to ensure her comfort,” the family member noted. He communicated directly with the patient, demonstrating patience and respect while explaining each step of his care. His professionalism and empathy exemplify nursing excellence and contribute significantly to the ICU team.
The Star Award is presented monthly to employees who demonstrate outstanding performance in areas such as customer service, teamwork, communication, accountability, and continuous improvement. Nominations can come from co-workers or patients, allowing for a broad recognition of exemplary service.
Recipients of the Star Award receive a variety of incentives, including a chamber of commerce gift certificate, additional paid time off, a certificate of recognition, and a designated parking space. This recognition not only honors individual achievements but also encourages a culture of excellence within the healthcare facilities.
By celebrating the efforts of dedicated staff members like Green and Malanowski, BRMC and OGH continue to foster an environment that prioritizes high-quality patient care and teamwork.
