Montgomery County Inspections Reveal Food Safety Violations

Food safety inspections conducted by the Montgomery County Office of Public Health from September 21 to 27, 2025, uncovered multiple violations at several local establishments. Among the concerns noted were issues with cleanliness, food storage practices, and food safety compliance.
The inspections serve as a critical check on food safety practices, with each establishment being evaluated annually. Should any violations arise, inspectors may return for follow-up visits. According to the Montgomery County Office of Public Health, the inspection reports represent a “snapshot” of the establishment’s cleanliness, which may not reflect long-term conditions, as many violations are often corrected immediately.
Giuseppe’s Pizza & Family Restaurant Faces Multiple Violations
At Giuseppe’s Pizza & Family Restaurant in Ambler, Pennsylvania, inspectors identified a range of violations during a September 26 inspection. While food was deemed safe and unadulterated, issues included a dented can that was removed voluntarily from the shelf and improper handling of shellfish tags. The restaurant failed to properly date mark these tags, which must be maintained until the product is served.
Additional violations included unclean food-contact surfaces, with a soda gun at the bar noted as unsanitized. Furthermore, food items were found stored improperly, such as boxes on the floor of the walk-in freezer and personal items on cutting boards. The establishment must address these concerns promptly to ensure compliance.
Frais Cafe and Other Establishments Highlighted
Frais Cafe, located in Norristown, was also flagged during its inspection on September 26. The facility was cited for reheating food improperly, with items not reaching the required temperature of 165°F for hot holding. Additionally, food items in hot holding units were found to be below the minimum required temperature of 135°F.
Other notable establishments with violations include House of Biryani’s and Kebab’s, which lacked sufficient handwashing facilities and had unclean food-contact surfaces. During their inspection on the same day, the facility was also found to have an infestation of fly-like insects, requiring immediate attention from pest control services.
The Jarrettown Hotel in Dresher received a follow-up inspection that revealed compliance with previous violations, including repairs made to leaking hand sinks. However, the facility must continue to uphold high standards of cleanliness to maintain its operational license.
Texas Roadhouse, located in Royersford, was cited for similar violations, including a lack of a Certified Food Sanitation Manager (CFSM) certificate. The establishment was given 30 days to rectify this situation.
The findings from the Montgomery County inspections underscore the ongoing need for restaurants to maintain rigorous food safety standards. Those with violations are required to address them swiftly and may face re-inspections to ensure compliance. The next inspection cycle is scheduled for October 7, 2025, highlighting the importance of maintaining food safety standards across all establishments in the area.
For residents and diners, these inspection results serve as an important reminder to be aware of food safety practices in their local dining establishments.
