Focused Ultrasound Combined with Chemotherapy Improves Survival Rates for Brain Cancer Patients
A recent clinical trial has found that patients suffering from glioblastoma, a particularly aggressive form of brain cancer, experience a significant improvement in survival rates when treated with MRI-guided focused ultrasound alongside standard chemotherapy. The trial, conducted by researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM), involved 34 patients and demonstrated an impressive nearly 40% increase in overall survival.
