Tattoo Artist Calls Out BTS Fans Over Inappropriate Comments

A tattoo artist associated with the popular South Korean group BTS has publicly addressed fans after receiving inappropriate comments regarding members Jungkook and Jimin. Known for creating the distinctive “7” tattoos for all BTS members, the artist, who goes by the name POLYC, made headlines when he responded to fan messages that crossed personal boundaries.
The incident began when POLYC shared a story on Instagram featuring a photo of him holding a phone displaying an image of Jungkook and Jimin. This post prompted a flurry of comments from fans, causing POLYC to clarify that the phone belonged to a client. He expressed frustration over the incessant messages he received, which he deemed excessive and unwarranted.
In a subsequent post, POLYC emphasized the need for fans to respect personal boundaries, especially when it comes to their fictional narratives surrounding the artists. His statement highlighted the disconnect between fan fiction and reality, urging individuals to remember that their imagined scenarios do not reflect the real lives of the artists. He stated, “It’s important to remember that your fictional ship doesn’t exist in the real world. Please respect the artist & normal people.”
The reaction from fans was swift, with many taking to social media to express their embarrassment over the situation. Various users criticized the behavior of certain fans, labeling it as “embarrassing” and indicative of a growing trend of harassment directed toward individuals who interact with BTS members in real life.
One user commented, “Another day of crazy shippers harassing someone who knows those guys in real life… this time it’s Jungkook’s tattoo artist.” Others shared their disbelief at the lengths some fans go to in creating unrealistic expectations regarding the artists’ personal lives.
The issue of fan harassment is not new, and this incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by public figures in managing their personal boundaries with an intensely devoted fanbase. As fan culture evolves, it raises questions about the responsibilities of both fans and artists in navigating this complex landscape.
As the situation continues to unfold, it serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining respect and understanding within fandoms. Artists like POLYC, who contribute to the public personas of stars like Jungkook and Jimin, deserve to work without undue pressure from fans, allowing them to focus on their craft.
