Milagro Gramz Launches Media Fund After Defamation Verdict
In a significant turn of events, Milagro Gramz has announced the launch of a new media fund following a court ruling that found her liable for defaming Megan Thee Stallion. The jury’s decision, which concluded on December 1, 2023, determined that Gramz had intentionally inflicted emotional distress and collaborated with Tory Lanez in promoting a deep fake video involving the rapper. As a result, Gramz now faces a financial obligation of approximately $75,000 to Megan Thee Stallion.
The legal battle, which lasted several months, culminated in a mixed verdict regarding Gramz’s status as a media entity. While the jury acknowledged her role in media, they affirmed her culpability in the defamatory actions. The financial implications of the verdict come at a challenging time for Gramz, who previously disclosed her financial struggles to the court. She stated, “I have an account right now that’s negative $10,000, where I had to worry about how to feed my kids, because I’m trying to pay all of this stuff.”
In addition to her ongoing legal issues, Gramz mentioned losing a lucrative deal with Stationhead, which had been generating over $6,000 per month. The combination of these setbacks has placed significant strain on her finances.
Launching a New Fund for Independent Creators
Despite these challenges, Gramz is pivoting towards supporting the independent media landscape. On December 2, 2023, she took to social media platform Twitter/X to announce a new fundraising initiative via GiveSendGo, aimed at generating $100,000 for independent creators. The campaign’s description emphasizes the importance of independence in media, stating, “In an era where legacy media gatekeepers decide what you see, hear, and think, a new generation of independent creators is breaking through, but independence comes at a cost.”
The initiative promises that every dollar contributed will support independent media directly, without intermediaries. This approach aligns with Gramz’s vision of empowering creators to share their messages without the constraints often imposed by traditional media outlets.
Future Projects and Artistic Expression
Looking ahead, Gramz has hinted at new creative endeavors following the verdict. She expressed her intention to work on a mixtape, stating, “I’m start working on my mixtape because apparently the only place where you can bully people and talk crazy and pop sh*t is in the studio.” This project aims to channel her current experiences and emotions into her music, transforming her challenges into artistic expression.
As the story unfolds, Gramz’s efforts to recover from her legal troubles and her commitment to supporting independent media will be closely watched by fans and industry observers alike. The intersection of her legal battles and new projects illustrates the complexities facing creators in today’s media landscape.
