During the recent New York Comic Con, Lucasfilm Publishing announced an extensive lineup of new literature set in the beloved Star Wars universe. The reveal showcased a variety of upcoming titles, including novels, comics, and even a coloring book, appealing to fans of all ages and interests. Among the highlights is a new novel titled Star Wars: Legacy, which explores the mentorship between Rey and Leia Organa during the crucial period between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker.

The book, authored by Madeleine Roux, is scheduled for release on July 28, 2026. It promises to delve deeper into Rey’s training under Leia, a relationship that was only briefly touched upon in the films. The official synopsis indicates that Rey, feeling isolated and overwhelmed after narrowly escaping the First Order, embarks on a quest with Leia to repair her broken lightsaber and rekindle the legacy of the Jedi. As they navigate the challenges of mentorship, they also confront the looming threat of the First Order.

Expanding the Star Wars Universe

The High Republic era continues to gain traction with the announcement of the comic series Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Pathfinders, set to debut on March 11, 2026. Written by George Mann, this series will follow a new group of Republic Pathfinders as they investigate the mysterious death of a Jedi Master. This exploration adds to the rich tapestry of storytelling in the High Republic timeline, which has primarily been conveyed through comics and novels.

Additionally, the panel introduced Star Wars Visions: Tsukumo, a new manga set in the same universe as the animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions. Scheduled for release on July 14, 2026, this manga follows a lone Jedi Knight accompanied by droids as they flee from the Empire, showcasing the diverse storytelling styles within the franchise.

Another notable announcement was Eyes Like Stars, the first official Star Wars romance novel written by Ashley Poston. Set for release in Summer 2026, it features a charming young adult love story within the galaxy, promising to provide a fresh perspective on romance in the Star Wars universe.

Exploring Iconic Characters and Their Stories

The panel also revealed a one-shot entitled Star Wars: Jar Jar Binks, authored by Ahmed Best, who famously portrayed the character in the prequels. This comic, set for release on February 11, 2026, will team Jar Jar with Jedi Knight Kelleran Beq, adding depth to a character often maligned by fans.

Moreover, the ongoing Star Wars: Legacy of Vader comic series will continue with issues #9 and #10, set to be released on October 15 and November 5, 2026, respectively. These issues promise to delve deeper into the psyche of Kylo Ren and his connection to Darth Vader.

Fans of the Mandalorian will also find much to be excited about with the announcement of The Art of Star Wars: Andor, releasing on May 19, 2026, which will provide an in-depth look at the making of the acclaimed Disney+ series. Additionally, a new coloring book featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu will be available on April 28, 2026, catering to both young fans and adults seeking creative outlets.

As the Star Wars universe continues to expand, these new publications promise to enrich the lore and offer fans new adventures to explore, ensuring that the legacy of this iconic franchise remains vibrant and engaging for years to come.
