The upcoming episode of MBC’s popular drama series, “To the Moon,” will feature a shocking return as Lee Sun Bin’s character, Jung Da Hae, confronts her long-lost father. After years of absence, Jung Yong Jik, portrayed by Seo Hyun Chul, re-enters the lives of his family during a pivotal birthday celebration.
“To the Moon” is inspired by the novel of the same name and centers on three women from modest backgrounds who turn to cryptocurrency investing as they navigate financial hardship. The show has captured audiences with its engaging narrative and relatable characters.
In the latest episode, set to air on October 11, 2023, at 9:50 p.m. KST, Da Hae has meticulously planned a grand 60th birthday party for her mother, Lee Jung Im, played by Kim Mi Kyung. The festivities include performances by friends Kim Ji Song (Jo Aram) and Kang Eun Sang (Ra Mi Ran), who entertain guests with lively songs.
As Da Hae enters the room carrying a beautifully decorated birthday cake, her joyful moment takes a dramatic turn. She is stunned to see her father, Jung Yong Jik, unexpectedly present at the party. Once obsessed with gambling and cryptocurrency, Yong Jik had previously abandoned his family, leaving them in financial turmoil. His reappearance raises immediate questions about his intentions, particularly as he arrives with a cryptocurrency mining rig in hand.
The production team of “To the Moon” shared insights on this pivotal moment, highlighting Da Hae’s dedication to making her mother’s birthday a joyful occasion. They noted, “As Da Hae has always been determined to be a good daughter who treats her mother right, she sincerely does her utmost to make this 60th birthday party the happiest day of her life. However, her plans go awry because of the unexpected arrival of her father, and the festive atmosphere of the party changes in the blink of an eye.”
The audience is left to wonder how both Da Hae and her mother will react to Yong Jik’s sudden return. This unexpected twist adds a layer of tension and intrigue to the storyline, promising viewers an emotional rollercoaster.
Fans of the series can look forward to this dramatic episode, which promises to explore themes of family, forgiveness, and the impact of past choices. In the meantime, viewers can catch up with Lee Sun Bin in her role in “Boyhood,” available with subtitles on Viki.
