Production on the highly anticipated second season of the Star Wars series Ahsoka has officially wrapped. This milestone follows approximately six months of filming that began in late April 2024. Actors Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who portrays Sabine Wren, and Eman Esfandi, who plays Ezra Bridger, shared their excitement on social media with photos and videos commemorating the conclusion of shooting.

Returning Cast and New Faces

The latest season will feature a talented ensemble cast, including Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and David Tennant providing the voice for Huyang. The role of Baylan Skoll will see Rory McCann stepping in to fill the shoes of the late Ray Stevenson.

Other characters expected to return include Chopper, Enoch, Admiral Ackbar, and Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios. The first season aired in late 2023, concluding with several characters trapped in a different galaxy on the planet Peridea, while the exiled Thrawn navigated back to the main Star Wars galaxy.

Filming Techniques and Season Details

This season consists of eight episodes, all penned by Dave Filoni. In a notable departure from the first season, which concluded on a cliffhanger, the new episodes are expected to provide a more conclusive narrative. The first season utilized StageCraft technology, similar to that employed in the production of The Mandalorian. In contrast, the second season was filmed in the UK, employing a combination of advanced filming techniques and on-location shooting.

The wrap party for the cast and crew took place earlier in the month, celebrating the end of an extensive filming period. Fans of the franchise are eagerly awaiting the release of this new season, which promises to further explore the intricate Star Wars universe.

As the release date approaches, anticipation continues to build, with viewers keen to see how the story unfolds after the dramatic events of the first season.
