Disney Announces Casting for Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in Tangled
Disney has officially announced the casting of Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim as the lead characters in the live-action remake of the animated classic Tangled. This announcement follows a period of speculation and fancasting that has captivated fans for years.
After a temporary pause in the film’s development, largely due to the underwhelming box office performance of the live-action Snow White, excitement is reignited for this beloved story. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Croft will portray Rapunzel, while Manheim will take on the role of Flynn Rider. Both actors are set to step into the shoes of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, who voiced the characters in the original 2010 animated feature.
The casting decision comes after a series of screen tests conducted in December, which narrowed down a pool of finalists. Croft is widely recognized for her portrayal of Rachel Roth (Raven) in the live-action series Titans, which aired from 2018 to 2023. Manheim has built a reputation within Disney, having played Zed in the Zombies franchise, which has resonated with a younger audience.
Though Croft and Manheim may not carry the same high-profile recognition as some actors cast in Disney’s recent remakes—such as Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot in Snow White, or Emma Stone and Emma Thompson in Cruella—their selections indicate a focus on talent that resonates with Disney’s evolving audience.
As the live-action Tangled moves forward, many industry insiders are eager to see how these casting choices will impact the film’s reception. Fans are encouraged to stay updated on developments surrounding this project, as more information is expected to emerge in the coming weeks.
Disney’s live-action adaptations have become a significant part of the studio’s strategy, appealing to both nostalgia and new audiences. The success of these films often hinges on the chemistry between the lead actors and their ability to bring the animated characters to life.

With a release date yet to be announced, anticipation builds for what promises to be a fresh take on a classic tale.
As the production gears up, both Croft and Manheim will undoubtedly face the challenge of meeting the expectations of a devoted fanbase, eager to see how this new rendition of Tangled unfolds.
