Curt Menefee Exits Good Day New York to Focus on NFL Sunday
Curt Menefee, a prominent figure in sports broadcasting, has announced his departure from **Good Day New York** to concentrate on his role with **Fox NFL Sunday** and other weekend programming. This decision, shared with viewers on Tuesday, comes as a surprise to many who have followed his nearly two-year tenure on the morning show.
Menefee confirmed that he will not be returning to **Good Day New York** in 2026. Speaking directly to his co-host, **Rosanna Scotto**, he reflected on his time on the show, stating, “January will be two years since I’ve been doing ‘Good Day New York.’” He expressed gratitude for the warm reception he received from both Scotto and the show’s staff, noting, “It’s been a great time.”
Future Plans at Fox Sports
Despite stepping away from the daily program, Menefee assured fans that he will continue to be an active presence at Fox. He mentioned his commitment to several shows, including **Fox NFL Sunday**, **UFL Football** in the spring, and coverage of the **Belmont Stakes**. “So, I’ll still be here on Fox. You’ll just catch me on Fox Sports on the weekends and not Monday through Friday,” Menefee explained.
His relationship with Scotto has been characterized by a playful chemistry, which he likened to a “brother-sister” dynamic. He acknowledged that he would miss interacting with the city’s enthusiastic viewers, who often share their passion for the show. Menefee credited much of the program’s success to Scotto, saying, “Being beside you was an honor for me.”
Balancing Personal Life and Career
Menefee’s decision to leave the show is partly influenced by the challenges of maintaining a work-life balance. He has been commuting regularly between the **West Coast** and **New York City**, which has taken a toll on his personal life. “My wife is there full-time, and we see each other 20 hours a week,” he shared candidly. “And it’s the life I’ve chosen, so I’m not complaining. I’m just saying, at some point you have to make an adjustment.”
Joining **Fox Sports** in 1997 as a sideline reporter, Menefee quickly ascended through the ranks, taking on play-by-play roles for **NFL Europe** and the main **NFL** broadcasts. In 2007, he became the full-time host of **Fox NFL Sunday**. His extensive experience in sports media has made him a well-respected figure in the industry.
Menefee will continue to co-host **Good Day New York** until the end of the year, allowing him to say farewell to the audience that has supported him. His transition marks a new chapter in his career, as he focuses on the weekend programming that has defined much of his professional life.
