A Journey Through Musical History

“Ghost Light Cabaret” promises an enchanting evening filled with some of Broadway’s most hauntingly beautiful music. Andrea Ross will perform alongside Scott Lykins, the festival’s artistic director and pianist. The concert is designed to evoke the spirit of Halloween, featuring a mix of classic and contemporary show tunes. Audiences can expect to hear iconic pieces such as the romantic strains from “Phantom of the Opera,” the rhythmic tales from “Hadestown,” and the enchanting melodies of “Wicked.” This intimate cabaret will weave together torch songs, ghostly ballads, and theatrical magic under the glow of the ghost light.

Recognized internationally, Andrea Ross has made a significant impact on the musical theater scene. The Boston Globe describes her as “a phenom, whose poise and pipes are astounding,” while Variety Magazine praises her “lovely, clear soprano.” Her career gained momentum through mentorship from renowned composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, who produced her chart-topping album “Moon River.” This album reached No. 1 on the UK Compilation Charts and included her contributions to various other projects.

Notable Performances and Acclaim

Andrea Ross is no stranger to the stage, having played lead roles in national tours of Webber’s “Whistle Down the Wind” and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music.” Her talent has earned her prestigious accolades, including the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Actress from the Boston Theater Critics Association. As a sought-after soloist, Ross has performed with leading symphony orchestras worldwide, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

In addition to the concert in Brainerd, the “Ghost Light Cabaret” will also be presented at Crooners Supper Club in Minneapolis on October 23, 2023, and at Pillsbury Castle on October 25, 2023, marking an exciting opportunity for audiences to experience this unique program.
