Brandi Glanville Faces Severe Chemical Burns from Nair Use

Brandi Glanville, a reality television personality, has sparked concern among her fans after she appeared to suffer severe chemical burns on her face from using Nair, a popular hair removal cream. In a TikTok video posted on August 3, 2024, Glanville, 52, shared her experience, revealing her red and blotchy skin while humorously stating, “I know I look attractive.”
Glanville explained her reasoning behind using Nair on her cheeks, citing an ongoing battle with a facial parasite she has named Caroline. She claimed that exfoliating her skin aggravated the parasite, leading her to experiment with the cream. “Nair is the fountain of youth. I figured it out, but I overdid it,” she admitted, cautioning others not to exceed the recommended usage of seven minutes.
In her TikTok post, Glanville advised viewers to conduct a “test patch” before applying Nair to their faces. “I’m on fire sooooioko [sic] don’t do 7 minutes it also burned the loose skin off my arms & its $7,” she wrote. To soothe her discomfort, she suggested a homemade remedy involving aloe vera, cucumber, and black tea.
Glanville’s health issues have been well-documented, particularly since she revealed her struggles with the facial parasite in December 2024. She described experiencing significant swelling, disfigurement, and difficulty speaking. “Honestly, I have so many doctors and I’ve had so many tests … I did lab work for $10,000,” she told *Entertainment Tonight*. Medical professionals have suggested varying diagnoses, including the possibility of a parasite and stress-induced edema.
In a candid update shared on social media, Glanville expressed her frustration and ongoing struggles. “What happened? I wish I knew,” she wrote, reflecting on her numerous hospital visits over the past year and a half. She highlighted her financial strain, stating she had spent over $113,000 in medical expenses in pursuit of a diagnosis and treatment.
Glanville’s health issues have not only affected her physically but also emotionally. She described feeling disconnected from her former self, missing social interactions and personal relationships. “I feel more insecure than I ever have in my life,” she shared.
In April, she revealed that her condition had worsened, leading to hospitalization after her head and neck became immobilized for hours. “I called 911 had a lovely trip in the ambulance now I am at this amazing place after sitting in a wheelchair in the waiting room for four hours,” she recounted.
The reactions from fans have been largely supportive, with many expressing concern for her well-being. Comments on her social media posts reflect a mixture of sympathy and alarm regarding her approach to skin care and treatment.
As Glanville continues to navigate her health challenges, her journey serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities surrounding personal care and the importance of seeking medical advice.
