Beloved ‘Peanut Man’ Celebrates Over 50 Years at Dodger Stadium
In a remarkable testament to dedication and community spirit, Robert Sanchez, affectionately known as the “Peanut Man,” continues to charm fans at Dodger Stadium after more than 50 years. Since starting his journey as a vendor at the age of 16, Sanchez has become an iconic figure for baseball enthusiasts, initially selling peanuts before transitioning to pizza in his 52nd season.
Sanchez covers an impressive five miles during each game, carrying around 20 pounds of snacks. He attributes his longevity and success to a strong work ethic, recalling advice from his father: “A little sweat on the forehead never killed anybody.” His commitment to staying active and engaged with fans sets him apart in the bustling environment of the stadium.
Connecting with Fans Beyond Snacks
For Sanchez, working at Dodger Stadium is not solely about selling food; it’s about building connections with the fans. His enthusiasm is contagious, as he frequently stops to take photos and videos with patrons, sharing these moments on his popular Instagram account. “I’ve been told I have the gift of the gab,” he shared, highlighting his ability to engage with customers while maintaining a leading position in sales.
As he approaches 68 years of age, Sanchez shows no signs of slowing down. He expresses his joy in serving fans and insists that as long as he enjoys his work, he will continue to be a familiar face at Dodger Stadium. “You’ll see me at Dodger Stadium,” he confidently stated, emphasizing his passion for the role he has played in the lives of countless baseball fans over the decades.
