Apple TV Kicks Off Production for Season 2 of ‘Presumed Innocent’
Apple TV has officially begun production on the much-anticipated second season of its thriller series, Presumed Innocent. The announcement came via social media, where the platform shared a teaser featuring stars Matthew Rhys, Fiona Shaw, and Rachel Brosnahan preparing for their roles in a dramatic courtroom setting. This marks the start of filming in October 2025, igniting excitement among fans of the series.
The first season, which garnered significant popularity, was inspired by Scott Turow’s 1987 novel of the same name. It also drew from a feature film adaptation released in 1990 starring Harrison Ford. For the second season, the storyline will be based on Jo Murray’s upcoming novel, Dissection of a Murder, which has yet to be published. This adds an element of mystery for viewers, as details about the plot remain largely under wraps.
In this season, Rachel Brosnahan reprises her role as the central character, Leila Reynolds, a young attorney thrust into her first high-profile murder case. The case revolves around the murder of a respected judge, intertwining with Leila’s own life, which complicates her pursuit of the truth. As she delves deeper, she discovers layers of complexity, manipulation, and deceit that challenge her both professionally and personally.
Star-Studded Cast and Creative Team
Alongside the three main actors, Season 2 of Presumed Innocent features an impressive ensemble cast, including Jack Reynor, Courtney B. Vance, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Michael Hsu Rosen, and John Magaro. The series is crafted by David E. Kelley, a renowned writer and producer known for his expertise in creating compelling thrillers, with notable works such as Big Little Lies and Goliath.
Although no official release date has been announced for the second season, production updates are expected to keep fans eagerly awaiting more information. As the series continues to captivate audiences, it solidifies its place as a defining title in Apple TV’s growing catalog of original programming.
