Philippine Travel Exchange Generates Over PHP 1 Billion in Sales Leads

The Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX) and MICECONnect 2025 concluded on September 10, 2025, at Conrad Manila, generating over PHP 1 billion in confirmed sales leads. This figure exceeded the projected target of PHP 596.2 million and highlights the Philippines’ position as a prominent destination for travel and events. The event was organized by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines and brought together 147 Philippine sellers and 114 foreign buyers from key international markets.
Under the theme “Tourism Transformed: Cultivating Connections, Driving Sustainability,” PHITEX + MICECONnect 2025 emphasized the importance of partnerships in promoting responsible tourism and industry growth. The event featured three days of business-to-business (B2B) sessions, enabling fruitful interactions between local sellers and global buyers, as well as networking events.
According to Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, Chief Operating Officer of TPB, “PHITEX + MICECONnect 2025 showcased the best of the Philippines to a global audience while forging connections that translate into real opportunities for our local stakeholders.” She highlighted the commitment to collaboration, sustainability, and inclusivity that ensures tourism growth benefits communities nationwide.
Throughout the event, delegates participated in over 3,000 B2B meetings. The top inbound tourism markets represented included Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, and the United States, among others. The event also embraced digital registration through a unified booking management system, allowing delegates to schedule appointments and access the event program easily.
Following the B2B sessions at Conrad Manila, PHITEX delegates embarked on familiarization tours to various regions, including Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, and Puerto Princesa, while MICECONnect delegates explored Cebu-Bohol, Davao, and Clark from September 11 to 15. These tours highlighted the Philippines’ readiness to host international gatherings and provided participants with immersive cultural experiences.
Mr. Harry Foo, a buyer from EVO Communications in Singapore, remarked, “The Philippines is very MICE-ready. It has the facilities and amenities for various MICE groups to hold their corporate meetings and incentive travel here.” Additionally, Mr. Terence Cardoz, a buyer from Divine Holiday Management in India, noted a productive meeting between Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing interest in promoting Bollywood films in the Philippines.
The success of PHITEX + MICECONnect 2025 reinforces the Philippines’ growing stature in the global tourism and MICE events sector. By blending smart and sustainable tourism with meaningful international partnerships, the event contributes to the country’s long-term tourism development and competitiveness on the world stage.
PHITEX + MICECONnect 2025 received support from industry leaders including Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air, and Destileria Limtuaco & Co. Inc..
The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines aims to market and promote the Philippines as a world-class tourism and MICE destination.
