P.F. Chang’s Appoints Jim Mazany as New CEO to Drive Growth
P.F. Chang’s has announced the appointment of Jim Mazany as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mazany takes over from Brad Hill, who has served in multiple executive roles since joining the company in 2017. This leadership change signals a strategic shift aimed at enhancing growth, innovation, and global expansion for the renowned Asian dining brand.
Mazany brings extensive experience in the restaurant industry, having previously held leadership positions at notable establishments including Rosa Mexicano, Yardbird, and Shell Shack. As the Chairman and CEO of these brands, he drove significant brand expansions and operational enhancements while serving as Operating Partner at private equity firm TriSpan Capital. His expertise also extends to overseeing over 300 locations at SPB Hospitality, where he managed a diverse portfolio that included brands such as J. Alexander’s and Logan’s Roadhouse.
Mazany’s leadership at P.F. Chang’s will focus on achieving consistent same-store sales growth and enhancing guest experiences. He aims to elevate the brand’s vibrant atmosphere and quality offerings while implementing strategies to attract both loyal and new customers. His plans include expanding domestic and international restaurant development, introducing consumer packaged goods initiatives, and refining P.F. Chang’s fast-casual concept to appeal to a younger demographic.
In his own words, Mazany expressed enthusiasm about his new role: “I’m thrilled to join P.F. Chang’s at such a pivotal time and lead the brand into its next chapter. Our goal is to build on the brand’s strong foundation to deliver bold flavors, immersive dining experiences, and innovative concepts that delight today’s guest and shape the future of modern Asian cuisine.”
P.F. Chang’s acknowledged Hill’s contributions to the company, highlighting his efforts in solidifying its financial standing, modernizing operations, and guiding global expansion strategies. John Paulson, President of Paulson & Company, the majority owner of P.F. Chang’s alongside TriArtisan Capital Advisors, stated, “We are deeply thankful for Brad’s leadership and the dedication he has shown to the P.F. Chang’s brand. He leaves behind a strong foundation and a talented team well-positioned for the future.”
Founded in 1993 by Philip Chiang and Paul Fleming, P.F. Chang’s is recognized for its commitment to honoring the 2,000-year-old tradition of wok cooking. With over 300 locations in 22 countries and U.S. airport sites, the brand continues to celebrate a diverse array of Asian cuisines. Its menu features a range of offerings, from handcrafted cocktails to elaborate multi-course dinners, reflecting a dedication to culinary excellence.
