New Bar Much Obliged Set to Open in East Village
Allyx Seemann and Marcos Fernandez, the duo behind the popular Gator New York in Brooklyn, are expanding their hospitality footprint with a new bar called Much Obliged. This establishment is slated to open at 42 Avenue B in Manhattan’s East Village, in a space currently licensed to the restaurant Pig & Butter.
Bar Features and Menu Highlights
The plans for Much Obliged include a modest layout featuring six tables and one stand-up bar, providing a total of 27 seats and bar stools for patrons. The proposed menu is designed to offer a variety of small plates, showcasing dishes such as crudo, grilled halloumi with chimichurri, gnocchi, and calamari salad. This approach aligns with the culinary ethos seen at Gator New York, which emphasizes a contemporary take on American cuisine.
The operational hours for Much Obliged are planned to cater to late-night crowds, with service from 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, extending to 2 a.m. on Fridays, and starting at 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, with closing times at 2 a.m. and 12 a.m. respectively.
