Israel Launches Airstrikes on 120 Targets in Gaza, 44 Dead

The Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes on approximately 120 targets in the Gaza Strip on March 30, 2024, resulting in the deaths of at least 44 people, according to Gaza health officials. The strikes targeted buildings, tunnels, and a surveillance post allegedly used by militant groups, as Israel intensified its military operations in the region.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that several gunmen were killed and a cache of weapons, including rockets and grenades, was seized during the operation. They released footage showing a drone strike on two individuals digging in Gaza City, identified as members of Hamas who were attempting to plant explosives.
International Response and Ongoing Tensions
The latest military actions come amid escalating international pressure for a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict, which has persisted for over two years. The humanitarian situation in Gaza, already dire, has worsened with each round of violence, prompting calls from various global leaders for a halt to hostilities and negotiations towards peace.
In a separate development, Israeli authorities are investigating a wave of unsettling phone calls received by hundreds of Israelis. The calls, delivered in Hebrew, offered financial incentives for individuals to act as agents for Iranian intelligence. An alarming message reportedly stated, “Iranian intelligence is looking for official agents—competitive salary, comprehensive security.” This recruitment tactic has been viewed by Israeli officials as an attempt to intimidate citizens.
Hezbollah Remembers its Leader
On the same day, the terror group Hezbollah marked the anniversary of the assassination of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah. He was killed by an Israeli airstrike in Beirut shortly after a public appearance. Hezbollah released what it claimed was the last image of Nasrallah at its command operations room. Thousands gathered at a memorial in Beirut to honor him, reflecting the ongoing tensions in the region and the complex interplay of power among various factions.
As the situation in Gaza remains critical, the international community watches closely, hoping for a resolution that brings an end to the violence and suffering experienced by civilians on both sides.
