Madera County Authorities Capture Fugitive After Long Search

A fugitive wanted by authorities in Madera County has been arrested following a lengthy search. On Monday, Kyle Thomas Clarkson, 31, was taken into custody after deputies received a tip regarding his location. Clarkson was wanted on a bench warrant for violating his post-release community supervision.

Clarkson first came to the attention of law enforcement in April 2023. According to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, he had previously evaded capture, including during a foot pursuit in Oakhurst. The Madera Special Enforcement Team conducted surveillance on the suspect and executed a search warrant based on the received tip.

After approximately 30 minutes of negotiation, Clarkson surrendered without further incident.

In a statement following the arrest, Sheriff Tyson Pogue emphasized the importance of trust in law enforcement. He remarked, “Trust is built through action, not headlines. Our community deserves law enforcement that shows up, follows through, and puts service before show.”
