The Humboldt Senior Resource Center (HSRC) is actively promoting healthy aging through a variety of programs designed to support older adults, families, and caregivers. The center aims to enhance the quality of life for seniors in the region by providing essential services and resources tailored to their needs.

One of HSRC’s key offerings is its Senior Nutrition program, which serves nutritious meals across multiple locations. The schedule for the Heritage Café is as follows:

– In Arcata, the café operates from Tuesday to Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (707-825-2027).
– In Eureka, meals are available Monday to Thursday, also from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (707-443-9747).
– In Fortuna, the café is open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from noon to 12:30 p.m. (707-725-6245).

For those unable to dine in, the HSRC offers meal pick-up at various sites. On Tuesdays, meals can be collected at the McKinleyville Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (707-496-7036). On Fridays, the Volunteer Fire Hall in Rio Dell hosts pick-up meals from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (707-496-7036), and on Thursdays, the VFW in Willow Creek serves meals from 11:00 a.m. to noon (707-496-7036).

Advance reservations are encouraged for both in-person dining and meal pick-up. For more detailed information, including menus and activity schedules, individuals can visit the HSRC website or inquire at any Heritage Café location.

Additionally, HSRC is accepting referrals for new enrollments in various programs, including Adult Day Health, Behavioral Health Services, Meals on Wheels Redwood Coast, and the Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP). The center also invites new members and volunteers to join the Redwood Coast Village, fostering a supportive community for seniors.

For further assistance or to explore available programs, individuals can contact HSRC at 707-443-9747 or visit the official website at www.humsenior.org. This initiative underscores HSRC’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of older adults throughout the region.
