Excitement builds for a busy day of racing today, with live action from both Fontwell and Wolverhampton featured on Sky Sports Racing. The events promise thrilling competition as several horses aim for consecutive wins across different races.

Fontwell Showcases Competitive Races

At Fontwell, the spotlight is on the 4:50 PM race, where Neil Mulholland trains Masterdream, who seeks to secure back-to-back victories in the BetGoodwin Super Tommy Cannon Handicap Chase. This eight-year-old gelding recently returned to jumping after two flat races at Ffos Las and triumphed here 24 days ago, marking his second win from six attempts over fences.

Challenging Masterdream is Ballynaheer, fresh off a convincing 14-length victory 15 days prior at the same course. The six-year-old is now looking to overcome a seven-pound weight increase in his bid for consecutive wins. Additionally, Ivane, a seven-year-old trained by James Owen, also aims for back-to-back victories after a successful outing at Sedgefield 18 days ago. He will be stepping back up in distance, racing over three miles for the first time in over a year.

The field of seven will also include contenders Born At Midnight, Faded Fantasy, Invictus Allen, and Unspeakable, along with Jaramillo and Somespring Special.

Wolverhampton Hosts Promising Races

At Wolverhampton, the first race is the 4:25 PM Race And Rest – Wolverhampton Holiday Inn Fillies’ Handicap, where Gretna Dreams aims for a third consecutive victory. Having previously won at Brighton and Newmarket, the filly trained by Stuart Williams returns to all-weather racing for the first time since October 2024, where she previously achieved her sole all-weather win over today’s course and distance in September of last year.

Challenging Gretna Dreams will be Magic Runner, trained by Ruth Carr. This filly will be looking to improve upon her second-place finish at Wolverhampton, where she lost by only a neck. Despite her 10-race career, she has yet to secure a victory.

Cieren Fallon will ride Romantic Spirit, who is looking to defy top-weight in her quest for a fourth career win. The filly has an impressive all-weather record, having won three out of her last seven starts.

Other notable horses in this ten-strong field include Luisa, Liberty Bird, and Lady Of The Isles, who will be ridden by Hollie Doyle.

In the 3:05 PM race at Fontwell, Lermoos Legend is aiming for his second career hat-trick. The ten-year-old, trained by Sean and Mickey Bowen, recorded back-to-back wins recently after a successful outing at Market Rasen in July. He previously demonstrated strong performances after a 50-day break and looks poised to extend his winning streak.

Challengers for this race include Alien Storm and Midnight Jewel, with the latter looking for another win this year after a successful race at Stratford. The field also features The Gypsy Davey, who has been dropped in weight following a second-place finish at Stratford, making him a contender as well.

With a day filled with competitive racing, both Fontwell and Wolverhampton promise to deliver thrilling moments for fans and participants alike.
