Former Water Ski Champion Hosts Revival of Hope in Winterville

A nonprofit organization led by former world champion water skier Kristi Overton Johnson will host the second annual Revival of Hope in Winterville, North Carolina, on March 8-9, 2024. The event, organized by Victorious Living, aims to inspire community members through a series of four free gatherings held at a tented venue on East Fire Tower Road.
The Revival of Hope will feature two nightly services along with a “Discover Your Story” workshop and a women’s conference. All events are open to the public, and no tickets are required. The theme for this year’s revival is “Journey to Freedom.”
Overton Johnson expressed enthusiasm about the lineup of speakers, stating, “We have an incredible speaker lineup this year. Their stories prove that painful, frustrating, and even life-altering experiences don’t have to hold you back. There is hope for a purpose-filled life, no matter what someone has encountered.”
Among the notable speakers are best-selling author Rabbi Jason Sobel, known for his role as a spiritual adviser on the TV series The Chosen, and host of the show The Chosen Unveiled on TBN. The revival will also showcase worship music and performances by various artists, including songwriter and former Hillsong worship leader Miriam Webster Sobel, the Gateway Church Worship Team, and local talents such as Kellie Brown and Brandie Whitehurst.
The event will not only focus on uplifting messages but also include community engagement opportunities. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, with the Rock food truck on site Friday and GrillVille on Saturday. Additionally, complimentary breakfast and Awaken Coffee will be offered during the morning women’s conference to the first 200 attendees.
Victorious Living, a part of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries, aims to empower individuals, particularly within the corrections community, through biblically-based solutions. Since its inception in 2013, the ministry has reached millions across the United States, offering hope and freedom to those incarcerated in prisons and jails. Overton Johnson emphasized the importance of the revival in the local community, stating, “A person doesn’t have to be locked up physically to be incarcerated emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. God can set anyone free.”
All services during the revival will be live-streamed and translated into Spanish. They will also be broadcast to nearly one million prison tablets nationwide, allowing incarcerated individuals to participate remotely. The ministry team plans to visit the Pitt County Detention Center, bringing the revival’s message to 400 individuals currently in custody.
This initiative highlights the commitment of Victorious Living to foster a sense of community and provide pathways to healing and empowerment for all attendees. Through the revival, Overton Johnson and her team hope to inspire many to embark on their own journeys toward freedom and fulfillment.
