Calabasas Coyotes Dominate Castaic in 47-6 Victory

The Calabasas Coyotes delivered a commanding performance against the Castaic team, winning decisively with a score of 47-6 on September 5, 2023. Senior running back Kayne Miller played a pivotal role, contributing four touchdowns and amassing over 200 all-purpose yards during the game held in Valencia, California.
Calabasas set the tone early, establishing a 14-0 lead by the second quarter thanks to two rushing touchdowns from Miller. The Coyotes’ defense proved equally formidable, stifling Castaic’s offensive efforts until late in the second quarter when quarterback Adian Mojica managed to score a 1-yard touchdown on a quarterback keeper. By halftime, Calabasas had extended their lead to 27-6.
The Coyotes continued to dominate in the second half, with Miller returning the opening kickoff for an impressive 87-yard touchdown, pushing the score to 34-6. This victory follows Calabasas’ strong season opener, where they triumphed over Bishop Alemany. Miller’s performance has been particularly noteworthy, having already run for 187 yards and a touchdown in the previous game.
“We’ve got to build off of it,” Miller said about the team’s current momentum. He emphasized the importance of creating a strong team bond, especially with numerous new players joining the Coyotes this season. “It’s a lot of components,” he noted, highlighting the team’s goal of fostering a cohesive unit.
Despite the loss, Castaic’s Logan Siebrand-Wissinger emerged as a bright spot, recording over 100 receiving yards and displaying the potential to become a significant playmaker for the team. Castaic has faced challenges this season, having only 24 players available during the game, which contributed to their record falling to 0-2.
As Calabasas looks to maintain their winning streak, they will take a bye week before facing Agoura on September 12, 2023. Castaic will aim to rebound in their next matchup against San Joaquin Memorial on September 5, 2023. The Coyotes are building momentum early in the season, and with players like Miller and junior quarterback Dominik Hardy, who also threw two touchdowns during the game, they are positioning themselves for a successful campaign.
Miller’s straightforward goal for the team is to “just bring it all together.” With their current performance, the Coyotes appear well on their way to achieving that aim.
