Alleged Bullying Victim Takes Legal Action Against Song Hayoon

An alleged victim of school bullying, identified as “A,” has returned to South Korea to pursue legal action against actress Song Hayoon. This decision follows a series of email exchanges with Song’s agency, which “A” detailed in a statement released on August 25.

In the fourth statement, “A” clarified their intentions, stating, “I had no intention of making this into a dispute from the beginning.” After releasing a previous statement, “A” proposed to cease all legal action and resolve the matter amicably through Song’s law firm. This was described as a final act of goodwill aimed at achieving an honorable resolution.

The situation has also involved disagreements over the financial arrangements related to “A”’s travel to Korea. After booking a premium economy flight at their own expense, “A” initially accepted Song Hayoon’s offer to cover expenses. This included up to 1,200,000 KRW (approximately $865.82 USD) for the flight and 300,000 KRW (about $216.45 USD) for three nights of accommodation. However, complications arose when Song’s representatives categorized a rental car as “personal use,” excluding it from the settlement.

“I will prepay all expenses, including airfare, lodging, and transportation, and settle all expenses in full upon arrival,” “A” stated. They emphasized that while Song Hayoon’s side represented the settlement as covering 100% of total costs, it actually amounted to a partial settlement within a limited scope. “Even with simple calculations, I will have to bear at least six times more than Song Hayoon’s limited support,” they added.

Currently residing in South Korea, “A” has declared their intention to file a formal complaint and expose what they allege to be an institutional cover-up regarding their case. They are also preparing to take action against the Office of Education and Banpo High School. “A” plans to file a total damages claim of ₩10.0 billion KRW (approximately $7.22 million USD).

In a concluding remark, “A” emphasized that their actions are not driven by personal vengeance, but rather by a commitment to judicial order and the protection of public interest. This legal move comes shortly after Song Hayoon filed an additional complaint against “A,” accusing them of defamation.
