KATSEYE Unveils Gap Campaign and Celebrates Lollapalooza Triumph
KATSEYE, the vibrant girl group known for their dynamic performances, has launched a new collaboration with Gap titled the “Better in Denim” campaign. This initiative combines fashion with music, featuring iconic Gap styles paired with a dance video set to Kelis’ Y2K hit “Milkshake.” The group, which includes members Megan, Yoonchae, Sophia, Manon, Lara, and Daniela, aims to invoke a nostalgic, early 2000s aesthetic in both their attire and choreography.
The campaign video, choreographed by Robbie Blue, a notable figure who has worked with artists like Doechii and Tate McRae, showcases a range of Gap denim pieces such as low-rise jeans, bodysuits, and halter tops. “It’s so bold…and very obviously 2000s,” says Megan, highlighting the group’s commitment to confidence and style throughout the project. The choreography is characterized by a mix of sharp movements and sultry expressions, creating a visually engaging experience.
Each member of KATSEYE expressed personal connections to Gap, with Yoonchae reminiscing about her childhood memories of wearing matching hoodies with her sister. The campaign features Y2K-inspired denim looks, including Megan‘s Crop Shell Tank Top priced at $59.95, Yoonchae‘s fitted Denim Racing Jacket available for $98, and Manon and Daniela‘s stylish Men’s Baggy Jeans for $69.95. A key item featured prominently is Gap’s Long and Lean Jeans, which embody the low-rise trend.
The group has shared styling tips to help fans navigate this fashion trend. “I love to pair a low rise with some briefs that might peek out a little bit and a crop top to really show off that tummy,” Manon advises. Lara adds her own twist, suggesting that she often unbuttons and folds her jeans to achieve her desired fit. “That’s my favorite thing to do with low-rise denim,” she remarks, emphasizing the importance of personal style.
KATSEYE’s new campaign follows their recent performance at Lollapalooza, which the group described as an unforgettable experience. “It was insane,” shares Manon. “We keep saying it was the best day of our lives,” she continues, expressing disbelief at the large audience that turned out to see them. “Having this ocean full of people watching us perform was incredible.”
Looking ahead, KATSEYE is set to embark on their inaugural tour starting on November 15, 2023. “If you enjoyed our Lollapalooza performance,” Sophia teases, “then our tour is going to be really exciting.” The tour will cover major cities across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, providing fans with an opportunity to experience their energetic performances live.
As anticipation builds for both the tour and the campaign, KATSEYE invites fans to explore their latest fashion offerings through Gap’s online store, where they can find the featured items and more. The collaboration highlights the intersection of music and fashion, promising an engaging experience for fans and fashion enthusiasts alike.
