WE Fest Ignites Soo Pass Ranch with Day of Live Music and Fun

As the sun set over Soo Pass Ranch on August 3, 2023, the first full day of WE Fest showcased an impressive lineup of performances. Sammy Kershaw, Treaty Oak Revival, and Ashley McBryde energized the audience on the main stage, paving the way for Hardy to close out the night. Music echoed throughout the festival grounds, with smaller stages featuring a variety of acts, keeping the atmosphere vibrant and lively.
The festival kicked off with Bayker Blankenship taking the main stage in the afternoon under the bright sun, welcoming a diverse crowd that included softball teams, first-time attendees, and dedicated festival-goers. Among the many concert enthusiasts were Valerie Vogle from Bismarck, North Dakota, and Cathy Murphy from Dent, Minnesota, who have attended the event for an impressive 30 consecutive years.
Their journey to WE Fest began with their sons, and the two women quickly realized that attending together was far more enjoyable than simply dropping them off. “I have a son, a daughter, and two grandkids here, so three generations of us,” Vogle shared, highlighting the family tradition that has flourished over the years. Both retired teachers, they emphasized the festival’s fun atmosphere, quality music, and delicious food offerings as reasons for their dedicated attendance.
For those experiencing WE Fest for the first time, Vogle offered simple but sound advice: “Have fun and be safe,” a reminder she often shared with her son in earlier years. The festival grounds remained bustling with activity, featuring attractions like mechanical bull riding, shopping stalls, and a wide array of food options ensuring that there was something for everyone.
The energy of the festival was palpable. Attendees danced on the grass between sets, couples enjoyed intimate acoustic performances, and festival-goers showcased their vibrant outfits, including new pairs of boots. The excitement was heightened as the night approached, and fans eagerly anticipated Hardy’s headline performance.
As WE Fest continues to attract a wide audience, the combination of music, community, and tradition remains at the core of its appeal. The event not only celebrates the country music genre but also fosters connections among friends and families, creating memories that last a lifetime.
