Dorman Products Reports Strong Q2 Growth, Raises 2025 Sales Outlook

Dorman Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: DORM) has reported impressive financial results for the second quarter of 2025, showcasing significant growth driven by heightened demand in its Light Duty segment and effective cost management strategies. The auto parts manufacturer announced net sales of $541 million, representing a 7.6% increase compared to the same quarter last year. Diluted earnings per share surged by 25%, reaching $1.91, up from $1.53 in Q2 2024.
In adjusted terms, earnings per share grew 23% to $2.06. President and CEO Kevin Olsen attributed the company’s strong performance to increased sales and disciplined cost management. In his statement, Olsen noted, “Strong demand in our Light Duty business drove total net sales growth of 7.6%.” He emphasized that productivity gains and efforts to diversify the supply chain were significant contributors to the company’s earnings growth.
The gross profit for the quarter reached $219.5 million, accounting for 40.6% of net sales, which is an increase from $199.4 million, or 39.6%, in the prior year. Selling, general, and administrative expenses amounted to $137 million, which represented 25.3% of net sales. When adjusted, SG&A expenses were reported at $131.3 million, or 24.3% of sales.
Updated Forecast Reflects Market Confidence
In light of its strong year-to-date performance, Dorman has raised its full-year guidance for 2025. The company now anticipates net sales growth between 7% and 9%. Additionally, it expects diluted earnings per share to fall within the range of $8.05 to $8.35, and adjusted diluted EPS to be between $8.60 and $8.90. This revised outlook takes into account favorable timing for recognizing pricing and cost adjustments related to tariff impacts.
Given its solid operational execution and the continuing demand in the market, Dorman Products appears well-positioned to sustain its growth trajectory throughout the remainder of the year. As the company continues to adapt to market dynamics, its proactive approach to managing costs and enhancing productivity may further bolster its competitive standing.
