MBTA Transit Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a woman suspected of committing two unprovoked assaults in downtown Boston earlier this month. These incidents occurred on July 14, 2023, at the Downtown Crossing subway station.
The first assault took place at approximately 16:30, when the suspect reportedly spat on a victim. Just 15 minutes later, she was involved in a second incident, where she assaulted a 69-year-old woman. The police have shared images of the suspect on social media in hopes that someone may recognize her.
Authorities encourage anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact the MBTA Transit Police at 617-222-1050. Those who wish to remain anonymous can do so while providing crucial details.
The incidents have raised concerns about safety at public transit locations, leading to increased vigilance by law enforcement in the area. Transit Police remain committed to ensuring the safety of all commuters and are actively investigating these assaults.
As the investigation continues, the MBTA Transit Police emphasize the importance of community involvement in solving such cases. They urge the public to report any suspicious behavior to help keep the transit system safe for everyone.
