Community Remembers Judy Leqve, Cherished Mother and Friend
Judith “Judy” Lee (Fitch) Leqve, aged 86, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at her home in Pine Island, MN, surrounded by her family. Her passing marks the end of a life dedicated to her loved ones and her community, leaving a lasting legacy of warmth and kindness.
Born on July 15, 1939, in St. Paul, MN, Judy was the daughter of Frank and Ione (Musolf) Fitch. She attended Rochester High School and began her career in hospitality, working as a server and bartender at the Holiday Inn South for an impressive 34 years. Judy’s commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family.
On July 14, 1956, she married her beloved husband, Laverne Leqve, in Rochester, MN. The couple moved to the Pine Island area in 1958, where they spent over 61 years together until Laverne’s passing in 2018. Their enduring partnership set an example of love and commitment that inspired those around them.
Judy was known for her love of nature, particularly gardening and flowers. She found joy in hunting and fishing, but her greatest passion was spending time with family. Her affection for animals was evident in the care she provided to her pets, showcasing her gentle spirit.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Michele) of Rochester and Sue Albee of Waterford, WI, along with her granddaughter, Sara Albee, of Waterford. Judy also leaves behind her siblings, Deb House of Redwing, MN, and Bob Fitch of Pine Island, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne, her parents, and her brothers, John and Tom Fitch.
The community is invited to celebrate Judy’s life at a memorial event on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 11:00 to 13:00 at the Ranfranz and Vine Reception Centre. A memorial service and time for sharing will commence at 12:00. Attendees can enjoy a light lunch served throughout the reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Season Hospice, reflecting Judy’s compassionate spirit. The Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home is honored to assist the Leqve family during this difficult time. Those wishing to share memories or condolences are encouraged to visit the funeral home’s website.
Judy Leqve’s legacy of love, family, and community will be remembered by all who knew her.
