Community Unites to Provide Free Christmas Dinners in Lancashire
As the festive season approaches, communities in Burnley, Pendle, and the Ribble Valley are coming together to offer support to those facing financial difficulties or the prospect of spending Christmas alone. Several venues have organized free Christmas dinners, ensuring that everyone has a chance to celebrate the holiday.
Curry on the Street will host its event on December 19, 2023, from noon to 15:00 at the Diverse Centre in Railway Street, Nelson. This initiative aims to provide free Christmas dinners specifically for the homeless. The founder, James Foy, together with manager Sharon Martin, is committed to making this festive season more inclusive for those in need.
St Mary’s Church in Burnley is also stepping up, offering free Christmas Day dinners starting at 14:00 in the parish rooms. Every guest will also receive a gift to enhance their holiday experience. Individuals who wish to participate can reach out to Colne Citadel through their Facebook page for further details.
