Ravens’ Offense Falters Again as Jackson Struggles in Loss
The Baltimore Ravens’ offense continues to struggle, culminating in a disappointing 32-14 Thanksgiving loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on November 27, 2025. Quarterback Lamar Jackson had a particularly challenging night, committing three turnovers and completing less than 60% of his passes for the fourth consecutive game. This performance raises questions about the effectiveness of the team’s offensive strategy, especially against opponents that are not currently in the playoff picture.
Jackson’s difficulties have been evident since returning from injury on October 30. In the last four games, he has fumbled four times and thrown an interception in three of them, while his completion rate has dipped to 59.8%. “I just got to be consistent,” Jackson stated, though he emphasized this sentiment repeatedly in his five-minute postgame conference. His frustration was clear: “I can’t describe the level of frustration. I’m ticked off.”
The Ravens’ recent performances are concerning, particularly given their previous success. Last season, the team ranked third in the NFL with an average of 30.1 points per game. This season, that figure has dropped to 24.1, translating to nearly a touchdown less per game. Jackson’s last game above a 60% completion rate was the October 30 victory over the Miami Dolphins, a match notable for its timing, occurring just before the Dolphins’ general manager was dismissed.
Head coach John Harbaugh commented on the team’s challenges, stating, “When you turn the ball over as much as you did tonight, that’s the story of the game.” While he refrained from directly addressing Jackson’s accuracy issues, he emphasized the need for improved execution across the team. The Ravens now hold a 6-6 record, which has resulted in a loss of their division lead over the Pittsburgh Steelers, who sit at 6-5 and are set to face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Jackson’s performance has not only been problematic in the passing game. His rushing ability has also waned; he has not exceeded 50 yards on the ground since the season opener against the Buffalo Bills, where he rushed for 70 yards. In contrast, his highest rushing total since returning is just 36 yards against the Minnesota Vikings, averaging a mere 19.6 rushing yards over his last five outings.
Despite Jackson’s insistence that he is fully healthy, his visibly taped ankles during Thursday’s game suggest otherwise. He has dealt with a series of injuries this season, including a hamstring strain and knee soreness. However, Bengals defensive lineman Kris Jenkins noted that Jackson appeared to be moving well, while safety Dax Hill credited Cincinnati’s defensive front for the pressure that contributed to Jackson’s turnovers.
As the Ravens search for answers, left tackle Ronnie Stanley expressed confidence in the team’s ability to improve. “We’re going to figure it out,” he stated, highlighting the team’s commitment to overcoming their current challenges. With only five games remaining in the regular season, the Ravens are under pressure to rectify their offensive inefficiencies and reclaim their earlier momentum. Jackson’s consistency, which he himself acknowledges as vital, remains elusive as the season progresses.
