The Atlanta Falcons will likely be without star wide receiver Drake London for a second consecutive week due to a left knee injury. Head coach Raheem Morris indicated on Wednesday that London is considered “doubtful” for the upcoming game against the New York Jets on October 29, 2023. London has been sidelined with a PCL strain, which forced him to miss last week’s victory over the New Orleans Saints.

In his absence, London, who leads the Falcons with 60 receptions, 810 receiving yards, and 6 touchdowns, is sorely missed. His contributions have been vital to the Falcons’ offensive strategy this season. Despite this setback, the team managed to secure a 24-10 win against the Saints, thanks to impressive performances from fellow wide receivers Darnell Mooney and David Sills V. Both players caught touchdown passes from quarterback Kirk Cousins, who is expected to start for the remainder of the season following the injury to Michael Penix Jr.. Penix suffered a torn ACL in Week 11 against the Carolina Panthers, ruling him out for the rest of the year.

Morris noted that London has shown improvement in his mobility and expressed optimism about his prompt return. “Drake has been moving better,” Morris said. “We’re hopeful he can be back soon, but we want to ensure he is fully healed before putting him back on the field.”

The upcoming match against the Jets will be crucial as the Falcons aim to maintain their momentum. The team has relied heavily on its passing game, making London’s potential absence a concern for the coaching staff. As the Falcons prepare, they will look to continue their winning streak without one of their top offensive weapons.

Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely as the team finalizes its roster for Sunday’s game, hoping for the best outcome for London and the Falcons.
