Robert Irwin has revealed his immediate plans following his success on the popular television competition, *Dancing With the Stars* (DWTS). After winning the latest season alongside professional partner **Witney Carson**, Irwin is set to travel to **South Africa** to film another television project shortly after the season finale on **November 25, 2023**.

“I actually head straight to South Africa,” Irwin stated in an interview with **E! News** after the finale. “I go to New York and then straight to South Africa to film another show over there. And then I’m back home.” This busy schedule comes after a demanding 11 weeks of intense rehearsals and performances on DWTS.

Irwin, 21, also confirmed that he will not be saying goodbye to Carson, 32, just yet. Carson expressed her excitement about reuniting, stating, “I am, next spring, I’m there. You’re not getting rid of me that easy!” Their partnership proved successful, as the duo clinched victory in the ballroom competition, marking a significant achievement for Irwin, who follows in the footsteps of his sister, **Bindi Irwin**, who won the show a decade ago.

The finale was not without its challenges, as Irwin dealt with a painful rib injury sustained during rehearsals. He shared insights into his struggles, saying, “I’ve been dealing with rib pain because the intercostal muscles of the ribs are under a lot of tension. It’s been getting worse progressively.”

Carson expressed her deep concern for Irwin’s health leading into the finale. “At the end of the day, his health is my priority,” she said, underscoring the physical toll that the competition had taken on both of them. Earlier that day, she mentioned in a TikTok video the stress surrounding Irwin’s injury. “Today at blocking is a little stressful… Robert’s ribs have been killing him,” she explained, providing fans with a glimpse of the pressures they faced.

Despite the physical strain, Irwin and Carson delivered a standout performance, earning a perfect score of **30** for their freestyle and cha-cha-cha routines. Their skill and resilience paid off, as they took home the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. In the finale, influencer **Alix Earle** and **Val Chmerkovskiy** secured second place, while Olympic gymnast **Jordan Chiles** and **Ezra Sosa** claimed third.

The season finale showcased not only the competitive spirit of the participants but also the emotional investment of the dancers, as Carson noted, “I think I’m emotionally and physically exhausted.”

As Irwin embarks on his next adventure in South Africa, fans eagerly await news of his upcoming television show, as well as his continued partnership with Carson in future projects.
