Tehama County Celebrates 100 Years of Cowgirls with Fashion Show

The Tehama County CowBelles hosted a vibrant “100 Years of Cowgirls Luncheon and Fashion Show” in Red Bluff, California, on November 15, 2025. More than 200 attendees enjoyed the celebration that commemorated a century of women’s contributions to the Western lifestyle through a stylish runway presentation and a delicious luncheon.

The CowBelles, established on April 25, 1953, began with 74 founding members and continue to support the livestock industry as part of the Tehama County Cattlemen’s Association. Their commitment to advocacy and education helps foster appreciation for agricultural practices and inspire future generations.

The event featured a variety of activities, including a fashion show showcasing outfits from local retailers like The Loft and Red Bluff Round Up Mercantile. Models Tashia Nicole, Tricia Troberg, and others strutted down the runway, captivating the audience with their stylish Western attire.

Memorable Moments and Community Spirit

Attendees shared their enthusiasm for the event on social media. Scotty Ulch expressed gratitude to the organizers, while Sharon Schisler Erickson highlighted the joy of reconnecting with friends and enjoying quality entertainment. The Mistress of Ceremonies, Linda Durrer, kept the atmosphere lively with her engaging personality.

The luncheon featured a unique dish of rolled beef strips resembling roses, served alongside a tossed green salad and other delicious offerings. The catering was provided by “Etched in Elegance Catering,” ensuring a memorable dining experience. Additionally, the Red Bluff Kiwanis offered refreshments, with proceeds supporting their scholarship program.

In 2024-25, the Tehama County CowBelles awarded $14,000 in scholarships to twelve students pursuing various fields of study, including agricultural sciences and veterinary programs. This commitment to education demonstrates the organization’s dedication to the future of the industry.

Community Engagement and Recognition

The event also highlighted the creativity of attendees, as many decorated their tables with beautiful centerpieces, enhancing the festive atmosphere. Awards were given for the best-decorated table, with men from Boot Barn selecting Diane Kirchner’s table as the winner.

The “Cowboy Pantry” was revived in memory of Judy Chamberlain and Pem Lester, offering homemade goods and crafts for sale. This initiative not only generated funds for the organization but also fostered community involvement.

The 2025 CowBelle of the Year was awarded to Donna Marino, who will be honored at an upcoming luncheon during the California CattleWomen’s Convention. The event served as a reminder of the strong bonds within the community and the shared commitment to preserving the legacy of women in agriculture.

As the day concluded, many expressed their excitement for the next luncheon and fashion show, scheduled for 2026. It was a joyful occasion that brought together old friends and new faces, celebrating the enduring spirit of cowgirls in Tehama County.
