NewJeans Members Return to ADOR After Legal Dispute Resolution
The members of NewJeans, a popular K-pop group, have officially decided to return to their agency, ADOR, following a protracted legal dispute. This decision comes after a verification process regarding the intentions of members Minji, Hanni, and Danielle, which began when the agency announced their potential return. Previously, ADOR confirmed that Hyein and Haerin would also be rejoining the company.
On November 12, 2025, ADOR stated that it was “confirming [the three members’] true intentions.” Following this, an updated statement was released on November 13, 2025, through iMBC Entertainment, indicating that the agency was “coordinating individual meeting schedules with the members” and was committed to ensuring “smooth discussions.”
The tension between NewJeans and ADOR escalated last November when the group held an emergency press conference. During this event, they claimed their exclusive contract had been terminated due to a breach by ADOR and announced their intention to pursue independent activities. ADOR disagreed, asserting that the contract remained valid and subsequently filed a lawsuit to affirm this.
Given the likelihood of a lengthy legal process, ADOR also sought an injunction to prevent the members from engaging in independent activities. Following a series of legal proceedings, ADOR ultimately prevailed, leaving NewJeans with the option of appealing the decision or returning to the agency.
On the eve of the appeal deadline, all members of NewJeans announced their decision to return to ADOR, bringing a temporary close to the conflict. This resolution has prompted discussions within the industry about the implications of the legal battle and the future of the group.
While the immediate issues have been settled, the aftermath of this legal dispute may continue to influence the dynamics between artists and their agencies in the K-pop industry. The public response to NewJeans’ situation remains varied, with significant backlash directed at individuals involved in the case. The developments signal a critical moment for both NewJeans and ADOR, as they move forward from this controversy.
As the situation evolves, fans and industry observers will be keenly watching how NewJeans navigates its path within ADOR and the broader entertainment landscape.
