Exeter Township Senior High Presents Engaging Whodunit Play
Exeter Township Senior High is set to delight audiences with its production of “Murder’s in the Heir,” running from November 6 to 9, 2023. This engaging play, inspired by the classic board game “Clue,” promises a unique blend of humor, suspense, and audience interaction. With an ensemble cast that brings the mystery to life, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the resolution of the plot, making this performance a truly interactive experience.
The story centers around the character of billionaire Simon Starkweather, portrayed by Amari King. Starkweather gathers his family and staff to announce the surprising details of his will, which leaves substantial fortunes to several heirs. These include his niece Fiona, played by Ella Mackey, as well as her son Jordan, his great-niece Paula, and his grandson Simon III. The will’s announcement takes a dramatic turn when Starkweather’s lawyer, Lily Rompella as Lois Van Zandt, reveals that the will will become invalid within hours, setting off a chain of events that sparks tension among the disinherited heirs.
As tensions rise, characters are seen with suspicious items, including an axe and poison. The plot thickens when the lights suddenly go out, and Simon Starkweather is found murdered. Simon III, played by Logan Hellwig, takes on the role of detective, determined to uncover the identity of his grandfather’s killer. The play features a talented ensemble cast, including Kendall Meade, Ryan Hernandez, Nevaeh Foran, and many others, each contributing to the thrilling atmosphere of the performance.
One of the standout features of “Murder’s in the Heir” is its innovative twist: the audience will decide the outcome of the story. During intermission, attendees can cast secret ballots to determine the identity of the murderer, making each performance a distinct experience.
Performances will be held in the Exeter Township Senior High School auditorium, located at 201 E. 37th St., Reading. Showtimes are scheduled for Thursday, November 6, and Saturday, November 8, at 19:00, with a matinee on Sunday, November 9, at 14:00. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Notably, the Sunday performance is free for senior citizens aged 60 and older.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved online at https://exeterhs.seatyourself.biz. This production promises to be a memorable event for the community, inviting everyone to sharpen their detective skills and enjoy an evening filled with laughter and intrigue.
