Orthodox Jewish Leaders Unite to Endorse Ciattarelli in NJ Governor Race
Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli has received a landmark endorsement from a coalition of Orthodox Jewish leaders across Ocean County, New Jersey. This unprecedented show of unity signals the formation of one of the state’s most influential faith-based voting coalitions, as reported by The Lakewood Scoop. The announcement was made jointly by councils representing key municipalities including Lakewood, Jackson, Toms River, Howell, and Manchester.
The endorsement reflects a concerted effort among leaders from these communities to collaborate more effectively this election season. Organizers emphasized that this initiative is about fostering unity among various towns, with the goal of maximizing voter turnout. “While the process took a little longer than usual, this time it was for a meaningful reason,” they stated. “We worked to ensure that all towns are united and on the same page.”
In their outreach, the leaders called for a strong turnout, stressing the significance of every vote in an election that they believe will hinge on participation. They noted, “Every single vote in every single town is critical in this election. Each area has its own local races and priorities, but together we share a larger responsibility – turning out every possible vote.”
The Lakewood Vaad, the longstanding community council, has taken a leading role in this initiative, encouraging residents to engage in the electoral process. Letters circulated to local communities have reinforced this message, urging every eligible voter to participate. One letter specifically highlighted the importance of voting and included a recommendation for Ciattarelli as the candidate who has demonstrated care for the community’s needs.
The Vaad’s endorsement of Ciattarelli is rooted in shared concerns over critical issues such as education funding, infrastructure, and taxation. Leaders within the community thanked former President Donald Trump for his support of Israel and his efforts against antisemitism, further solidifying their alignment with Ciattarelli’s platform.
“This election season is pivotal for our community,” a representative from the Vaad stated, underscoring the need for unity and collective action. “Your vote is your voice. Make it count for our community’s continued strength and influence.”
As Ciattarelli seeks to shift New Jersey’s political landscape from blue to red, he faces Democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill. The endorsement from the Orthodox Jewish coalition could significantly impact voter turnout in the upcoming election, as community leaders rally to ensure their voices are heard at the ballot box.
With early voting already underway, the focus on maximizing participation reflects a broader trend in New Jersey politics, where community engagement and united fronts are becoming increasingly vital. The coalition’s commitment to collaboration across municipal lines may set a precedent for future elections, illustrating the growing influence of faith-based groups in shaping the political landscape.
