Renate Reinsve Dazzles at 2025 Academy Museum Gala, Shares Style Insights

Actress Renate Reinsve captivated attendees at the 2025 Academy Museum Gala with her stunning fashion choice, reflecting a blend of historical and contemporary inspirations. The gala, held in Los Angeles, showcased a variety of styles, but Reinsve’s shimmering gown stood out, evoking the sleek, androgynous aesthetic of the 1920s.
Discussing her outfit, Reinsve expressed her admiration for the design’s strong lines and the harmonious mix of masculine and feminine elements. “What drew me to this look was the sleek lines, the masculine and the feminine together,” she explained. Her choice highlights how modern fashion can draw from the past while maintaining a contemporary edge.
Reinsve also revealed how her previous roles have influenced her style. When asked which character’s wardrobe she would like to borrow, she immediately mentioned Ingrid from her film A Different Man. “I think Ingrid had some great suits I would love to steal,” she said, adding that she still owns pieces from her acclaimed role as Julie in The Worst Person In The World.
Her collaboration with renowned stylist Karla Welch and the fashion house Louis Vuitton has played a significant role in shaping her fashion sense. “I grew up seeing a mix of style from Twin Peaks and MTV. I think that combo has stuck with me,” Reinsve noted, showcasing how pop culture continues to influence her wardrobe choices.
As the evening progressed, Reinsve shared her favorite activities in Los Angeles, highlighting her appreciation for the city’s natural beauty. “I love the nature around L.A., and I’m always trying to find good coffee,” she said. With the sun shining bright, she is making the most of her time in California before returning to Oslo for the winter months.
The Academy Museum Gala is often referred to as the “Met Gala of the West,” and this year’s event certainly lived up to its reputation. With a star-studded guest list and a dazzling display of fashion, the gala not only celebrates cinema but also serves as a platform for artistic expression.
As the night unfolded, other celebrities also made headlines with their striking appearances. Notably, Demi Moore showcased voluminous hair inspired by the iconic Studio 54 era, while Kim Kardashian turned heads in a Maison Margiela Couture gown paired with a translucent face mask.
The event continues to highlight the intersection of fashion and film, fostering a space where artists can express their identities through style. As Reinsve and her peers demonstrate, fashion serves not only as a means of self-expression but also as a connection to cultural history and personal stories.
