The Green Truck Pub in Savannah, Georgia, is marking its 15th anniversary on October 18, 2023, with a special celebration that doubles as a fundraiser for local animal rescue organization, Renegade Paws Rescue. The event aims to honor the community’s support while also giving back to those in need.

Owner Whitney Shephard highlighted the significance of this milestone, stating that the fundraiser is a way to express gratitude to patrons who have supported the restaurant over the years. “We will match donations for Renegade Paws that are made all day. All you have to do is show up and eat dinner or lunch, and we will donate a portion of sales,” Shephard explained. Additionally, the restaurant will match monetary donations made by guests dollar for dollar, encouraging further contributions to the cause.

The anniversary celebration will feature a variety of activities, including a pet foster and adoption fair, local art displays, food and drink specials, and even a unique ketchup painting activity. Visitors are encouraged to bring pet supplies such as food, toys, leashes, and other essentials.

Mary Britton from Renegade Paws Rescue emphasized the importance of these contributions. “If people want to come out and make monetary donations, that’s fantastic because that helps us keep the dogs with their shots and medical care,” Britton said. She also noted that everyday items like leashes, collars, harnesses, and dog bowls are crucial for the operation of the rescue.

The goal of the event extends beyond fundraising; it seeks to foster local connections, whether between community members and their pets or the restaurant and the city that has supported it for so long.

The anniversary festivities are set to commence at 16:00 local time, with the art market running from 17:00 to 21:00 at the Green Truck Pub, located at 2430 Habersham Street in Savannah. This celebration promises to be a heartfelt occasion for both animal lovers and the local community.
